A single revenue number hides the guesswork

Most SaaS revenue tools turn ad spend into one MRR figure. But ad spend is not revenue: a company spending $100K a month on ads can earn $50K or $300K, and ads may be only one of its channels. Build on that number and you are betting on a guess you can't see.

How TrendLens estimates revenue

Three steps, recomputed every week.

STEP 1

Collect independent signals

Founder revenue posts, marketplace listings, pricing pages, 45,719 user reviews, search demand and ad activity.

STEP 2

Cross-check the sources

Signals that agree raise confidence; conflicting or single-source data lowers it. Disclosed numbers are labelled as such.

STEP 3

Output a range, not a guess

Low, best and high monthly revenue, a 0–100 confidence score and the evidence list — so you decide how much to trust it.

Why reach × CPM × ROAS gets SaaS revenue wrong

Popular ad-spend tools compute revenue with one fixed chain: Meta reach ÷ 1,000 × CPM = ad spend, × 4 weeks × 1.5 ROAS, × 1.5–2 for other channels. Every step is an assumption applied to every company:

ROAS is not 1.5 for everyone

A brand burning cash to grow and a profitable one get the same multiplier. Real return on ad spend ranges from below 1× to 5×+.

Meta reach covers mostly EU/UK ads

Ad Library reach data is published mainly for ads shown in the EU/UK, so the CPM model is EU/UK-only. US-heavy campaigns are under- or mis-counted.

No ads, no revenue

Products that grow through SEO, Google Ads, marketplaces or sales teams show up as near zero — often the most profitable ones.

Frequently asked questions

How does TrendLens estimate SaaS revenue?

We combine independent signals — founder revenue disclosures, marketplace listings, public pricing, review volume, search demand and ad activity — and output a monthly revenue range with a 0–100 confidence score. Every estimate lists the evidence it uses.

Is the revenue verified?

Only when a founder or marketplace discloses it, and we label that source. Everything else is an estimate. We show a range instead of a single number because a single number hides how uncertain the estimate is.

How is this different from estimating revenue from ad spend?

Ad spend is one input, not the answer. A company spending $100K a month on ads might earn $50K or $300K, and ads may be only part of its acquisition. We weigh ad data against disclosures, pricing and demand, and lower the confidence when sources disagree.

How many products are covered?

20,132 SaaS products from Product Hunt across 12 categories, with 45,719 reviews and 8,755 pricing tiers. Revenue ranges are recomputed weekly.
